Important Safety Information

Utility avoidance equipment does not provide excavation clearance

A radar indication does not identify the target material with certainty, and the absence of an indication does not prove that the ground is clear. Performance varies with soil, moisture, target depth, target size, orientation and surrounding materials.

Results must be used together with available records, electromagnetic locating, competent site assessment, safe digging procedures and suitable physical verification.

No. Utility avoidance is focused on identifying potential hazards before localised excavation. Utility mapping generally involves detailed data collection, interpretation, positioning and formal recording across a wider area.
Does e-Safe replace a cable locator?
No. e-Safe is intended to complement electromagnetic locating and other established safe-dig methods by providing additional GPR-based information.
Can utility-avoidance GPR detect plastic pipes?
GPR can respond to plastic pipes and other non-conductive targets where sufficient contrast exists between the target and the surrounding ground. Detection cannot be guaranteed in every condition.
Does the operator need to interpret radargrams?
e-Safe is designed to process the radar response and present a straightforward likelihood indication rather than a conventional radargram. Appropriate product knowledge and safe-working competence are still required.
How deep can the system investigate?
Investigation depth depends heavily on ground conductivity, moisture, target size, target orientation and surrounding conditions. Published product data should be treated as indicative rather than guaranteed for every site.
Can a clear display be treated as confirmation that excavation is safe?
No. The absence of an indicated target does not prove that the ground is clear. Results must be considered alongside other locating methods and appropriate physical verification.
